It peaked to about 5 bucks, in June 2022, Ukraine was attacked by Russia. Its now 4 bucks a gallon and it can be expected to surpass Biden's 2022 peak sometime in May this year.

You should also note that in the first few months of 2020 (Biden) the price fell to its lowest price in the past ten years, naturally you'll be credting him and his administration for that acomplishment.

So all that low price period from early 2020 thrue June 2021 compensates for the later peak, under trump prices have never dropped to those early Biden levels.

You don't get it. They Democrats want it to be at least $10. Democrats want energy to be very very expensive. Their stated policy goal was leaked by Steven Chu. They want gas in the USA to be at least as high as in Europe. Biden declared war on fossil fuels. Obama said he wants energy rates to "skyrocket".

Republicans just want energy to be affordable.

Crude oil prices are not controlled by governments, they could be, the oil could be nationalized then the price you pay for gas would be decoupled from OPEC, after all the US has a lot of oil, let the American people enjoy it, you know MAGA and all that.
