Kristi Noem Confirmed to Lead Department of Homeland Security

If you trust the alphabet agencies (especially the CIA) then I don't know what to tell you.

BC, as a logician, I must say that you are taking a wild leap from Noem merely saying at a confirmation hearing before a panel of people she is trying to get to vote for her certification, saying that her homeland security dept needs better ties with intel agencies like the FBI and CIA on radicalized groups and threats within the country to her going full out gestapo on you.
  1. Does it occur to you she must appeal to the deep state (those congress people) to whom she depends on for her certification, before she can address the deep state problem?
  2. In saying she may need better intel, other than the FBI and CIA, where else do you think she can get good intel from?
  3. She does not say HOW she will use the FBI and CIA.
  4. There are many other agencies besides these two--- how do you know she did not say FBI and CIA merely as a blanket cover-all term?
  5. In addressing radicalized factions, these groups may often be getting support both within and without the country. The FBI looks inward at our country, the CIA traditionally looks outward at other countries. If you are to get a clear picture, wouldn't you need both?
  6. Noem can access and consult with the FBI and CIA for all the billions invested in them and they can still be shrunk, tightened up and rid of the libidenous deep state elements of these departments.
Let the women get confirmed and do her job before you outright condemn her on how benignly she runs her department.

I posted a tweet, and in my first post the only thing I said was "I'm just going to leave this here." Then in my next post, I didn't mention her at all, I was talking about the alphabet agencies and also that we're moving toward more surveillance, and more Orwellian policies. I didn't say anything about how "she runs her department."

But yes, in regard to her, it's too early to say much. I'm looking more at the big picture. Based on what you said, it sounds like you have hope that she (and this administration) is actually going to fight the deep state. I just see it very differently, but I'm not going to debate this or try to convince you of anything. Time will tell where everything is heading. Based on what I've seen so far, I have thoughts on it, but again, for now we'll have to agree to disagree.

Thanks for telling us what we already knew.

Thanks for admitting that, as an understatement at best. She is not yet even into one day of her job yet.

Exactly. If she is to keep her position, she will have to fight the deep state or Trump will replace her, and yes, time will tell; my point here is that she hasn't even had yet one day on the job yet to tell anything and you are freaking out over the mere mention of a couple of words. Your proclivity to see dark shadows in every corner lurking is well known, maybe over the past four years that is justified, but at least give the new administration a chance before denouncing it as well.

Politicians rarely do very much right, I don't expect Trump's administration to be perfect neither, just less wrong than the previous one.

Freaking out? lololol. I must be on another thread, because I don't consider posting a tweet "freaking out." And apparently you didn't get why I posted it. Maybe I should've made this more clear (with an emoji or something) but if anything, in my mind the whole thing was funny.... but if I have to explain why, then just forget it.

Liberals every time there is a Trump story, announcement or post.

Kinda of a loss as she was a Great Governor.

Think better off with her as Governor. Not that she is a bad choice, but seems a waste of talent.

"Kristi Noem Confirmed to Lead Department of Homeland Security

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in a 59-34 vote Saturday.

Noem received a relatively less-dramatic confirmation compared to Friday’s vote on combat veteran and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth to lead the Department of Defense (DOD), which required a tie-breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance to give Hegseth the win.

As DHS Secretary, Noem will have several agencies including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Secret Service, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under her purview."

Another victory for Trump today. I am enjoying this winning streak.
Thank God, no more puppy attacks!
