In the places I've been I'm sure I have been fed dog and cat and even worse but I made no effort to find out. I've knowingly eaten rat, various kinds of snake and some of the worst goat stew you've ever smelled. There was still hair on the meat.

When you have to accept the hospitality of certain people to gain trust/cooperation you eat what's on the plate. Although I do suspect that sometimes it's a test and they wouldn't be eating that if it weren't.

The only thing I ever turned down was "bushmeat" which is monkey. It smells like people burning.
