You do not have to wade far into the recently declassified Crossfire Hurricane documents to be shocked. I had only read three pages of the FBI’s December 19, 2016 interview with the DoJ’s Bruce Ohr before learning just how early in the game the FBI brass knew that the Steele dossier was worthless.
In the way of background, on July 31, 2016, the FBI launched its counterintelligence operation into the Trump campaign, codenamed “Crossfire Hurricane.” FBI agent Peter Strzok was assigned to head it up.
If the goal was to cripple Trump regardless of the evidence, Strzok was the man for the job. “Damn this feels momentous,” he texted his lover, FBI attorney Lisa Page, upon getting the assignment. Two weeks later he explained to Page his motives. “There’s no way [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” he texted her. “It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”
Ohr played a curious role in the whole affair.

The Crossfire Hurricane documents also include a June 15, 2017 FBI interview with Adm. Mike Rogers, Obama’s director of the National Security Agency. This interview illuminates the fate of the Steele dossier post-election.
As Rogers related, President Barack Obama requested from his national security team a “single intelligence product on the topic of Russian interference in the 2016 election.” Obama’s inner circle — FBI director James Comey, CIA director John Brennan, and National Intelligence director James Clapper — never fully trusted Rogers and withheld information as needed.

On January 10, 2017, a quartet of CNN reporters including Jake Tapper broke the story of the Steele dossier. In the first paragraph, readers learned that “Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump.” In the second, they learned that “the allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible.”
Unfortunately for CNN, hours later on that same January day, BuzzFeed served up the ultimate buzzkill. It went ahead and ran the complete dossier under the headline “These Reports Allege Trump Has Deep Ties To Russia.” The CNN crew was outraged. “Collegiality wise,” wrote Jake Tapper to BuzzFeed editor Ben Smith, “it was you stepping on my dick.” CNN had an exclusive. Steele himself had briefed its reporters. They could have milked the story for weeks. BuzzFeed blew their cover.
No one stepped on anyone’s dick to break the story of the dossier’s funding. Incredibly, it was not until October 2017 that the story broke, and only then through the relentless probing of Rep. Devin Nunes, Kash Patel, and their team of investigators.
Knowing that Nunes had uncovered the Clinton funding source, Obama’s people fed the story to the Washington Post. Too bad they did not share the truth a year earlier. They could have spared the president and the nation a world of trouble.

Commentary:
The fact that Comey after being fired by DJT is now teaching “ethics” at a university should make us understand how absolutely corrupt and low has our country fallen. It makes my blood boil that all these criminals are getting away with their treasonous activities. There must be consequences. Lying under oath used to have charges of perjury and prison time. So far I am not impressed with Bondi or Patel as of yet. If they don’t begin bringing charges to these bald faced traitors, it will continue. These people are a cancer on our country.
One smart step would be to dissolve the District of Columbia District Court and reassign their duties to a newly formed Federal District Court.
We have been left to guess the real reasons for the unhinged resistance against Trump by Neo-Marxist Democrats from the very beginning. Remember, at one time he was a darling of the Democrats, and they mostly agreed with his views.
I think there is something missing, hidden beneath the surface, that the public doesn't know. What really triggered the insanity? Why have the "Five Eyes" been aiding and abetting the Democrats? Why, 10 years later is the desperation even worse? What are they really afraid of? Control has always shifted back and forth. What was so urgent they had to stop Trump immediately rather than just wait him out? Their timeline to full-blown Marxist tyranny couldn't wait a few years?
I believe that DOGE is finding out, there are trillion$ of reasons.
DOGE is revealing that the Federal government has become a criminal organization that oy classes the Mafia laundering taxpayer money to support Neo-Marxist Democrata, the Deep State and their pet projects. In the last few years we have learned that the intelligence and law enforcement branches destroy opposition even if they have to invent the story and get cooperation from foreign intelligence agencies

The top brass in the FBI and intelligence community were determined to stop President Trump from winning the White House in 2016, and they talked about removing him from office months after he was sworn in, according to newly released documents.
The zeal to pin Russian collusion allegations on Mr. Trump spilled out of the 700 pages of emails, memos, interviews and other material connected to the 2016 “Crossfire Hurricane” probe that were newly made public by the Trump administration.
Some of the material is familiar, released in 2021 by Mr. Trump on the final day of his first term. Other pages provide greater detail about the unprecedented secret probe and spy operation on Mr. Trump’s campaign that followed him into the White House.
In one newly released memo, dated May 2017, four months into Mr. Trump’s first term, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe discussed “the President’s capacity and the possibility that he could be removed from office under the 25th Amendment.”
At the time, the Justice Department was reeling over Mr. Trump’s firing of FBI Director James B. Comey on May 9, 2017, and was weighing the appointment of a special counsel to oversee the FBI’s probe into allegations, later proven phony, that Mr. Trump colluded with Russia to win the election.
Mr. Rosenstein said he believed he “might already have two supporters” among the eight cabinet members he would need to remove Mr. Trump under the 25th Amendment: Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.
The plan never moved forward and Mr. Kelly was elevated to serve as Mr. Trump’s White House Chief of Staff a mere two months later, in July of 2017. He left the White House in January 2019.
Mr.Trump fired Mr. Sessions in November 2018.

The newly released documents show desperation to stop Mr. Trump among top brass from the FBI. The deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, Peter Strzok, an avowed Trump hater, discussed in inter-bureau electronic messages the FBI’s proposal to form a “Trump unit” to investigate the new president days before he was sworn into office in 2017.

The FBI never vetted the Steele dossier, but documents show that Igor Danchenko, who was Mr. Steele’s primary source for the unproven allegations about Mr. Trump and Russia, was introduced to him by Trump foe Fiona Hill.

Mr. Trump called the entire investigation a “witch hunt” and a “hoax” that hobbled his first term in office.
He signed an executive order on March 25 declassifying the remaining Crossfire Hurricane documents that were not released in 2021, but the latest batch contained many redactions.
Mr. Trump called the investigation into his campaign “total weaponization” and “a disgrace” without precedent.
“Frankly, the FBI should be ashamed of themselves, and so should the Department of Justice and so should Biden,” he said.
