"Patel orders major redeployment of FBI agents

Ken Dilanian and Michael Kosnar

FBI Director Kash Patel is ordering a major redeployment of personnel, sending 1,000 FBI agents from headquarters in Washington, D.C., to various field offices, three current and two former FBI officials briefed on the matter told NBC News. He also ordered another 500 agents at headquarters to go to the bureau's facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

The reallocation isn't without precedent: When he became director in 1993, Louis Freeh ordered a number of supervisory agents at headquarters into the field. And many at the FBI can do their jobs from anywhere.

That said, the redeployment is likely to cause turmoil for families, as spouses have to leave jobs and their children are pulled out of school. It’s unclear exactly how long those affected will have to make their moves, the redeployment is happening soon, sources said."

Put them in the most dangerous urban areas in America to fight violent gangs. Let's see how many G Men quit.

Yeah lets squash the cartels in US.....

It is not unusual for Feds to be assigned to offices that require family relocation. When I was with them, the cost reimbursement packages for moving expenses were inadequate to cover all costs, but if you love that job you will do it.

In this case they are moving from one of the highest cost of living areas in the country, probably to one that is significantly cheaper.

They consider themselves "professionals" so should be fine with it. Otherwise, God be with you.

And I can't avoid pointing out, it happens all the time in the private sector and people do it without complaint.

Welp, there's another 1K homes that will be put up for sale in NOtVA and surrounding areas.

I hope it snagged that smug liberal FBI bastard that planted himself in my AO....His wife is also a giant PITA.

Giant PITA....

According to Googled info, FBI agents are some of the lowest paid federal employees with the highest paid getting around $125,000. Unless their spouse is making a lot of money I bet not a lot of them own their house in the DC area.

Who knows. Maybe a lot of them will appreciate a transfer to an area with a lower cost of living? Maybe a lot will quit? We'll see how it all shakes out when the dust settles.

Did he actually invoke this or just discuss it in an interview some time ago? I did see an interview of his suggesting this but he was not just even nominated.

This is Director Patel's first step, and it shouldn't come as a shock. He told us it was going to happen.

Say it ain't so! Fantastic move by Kash.

The politicization of the FBI is owing to so many of its drones working in the swamp.

FBI Director Kash Patel followed up a fiery introductory speech on Friday (Kash Patel Brings the Fire As He's Sworn in As FBI Director— 'There WILL Be Accountability' – RedState) with equally fiery action. He ordered 1,500 staff and agents to be transferred from its Washington, DC, headquarters to various locations across the nation. Some 1,000 agents and staff will be reassigned to cities the Trump administration has designated higher crime locations where they can fight crime rather than engage in political shenanigans. Another 500 staff will be reassigned to Huntsville, Alabama, which is the DC equivalent of exile to Siberia.

This is Director Patel's first step, and it shouldn't come as a shock. He told us it was going to happen.

...

Some of those agents are on temporary duty to DC and will return to their home offices. You can also bet that a non-trivial number of those ordered out of the building will retire rather than move. That would be sad, and we'd be filled with regret over the loss of their talent, but we shall have to somehow soldier
on.

Excellent, what good are 1500 agents doing in Washington D.C.? Get them out of the Woke Mecca and get to work tracking down bad guys.
MS-13 and TDA and those 320,000 kids Biden lost that the MSM forgot about.

Not to mention the 166,000 Chinese, 125,000 Russians, 600,000 convicted criminal illegals, and hundreds of terrorists including ISIS that entered the US.

Lots of work for everyone.

Yep. No more J6 citizens to track down and harass time to get back to catching bad guys. :113:
