Kind of a catch 22. You can’t find out if they committed a crime without investigating first.But that still does not prevent someone with a normal conscience from doing (mostly) right things.
Only quasi-psychopaths like you defend doing something as blatantly immoral as spying on someone who hasn't committed a crime.
There’s nothing immoral about investigating suspects, per se.
As long as the investigation was properly predicated on reasonable suspicion. That’s also somewhat subjective.
