Blacks were eliminated from the jury. Now, there might be Hispanics or Asians on the jury, but I kind of doubt it.
He was being punched by a smaller kid, who was, again, a kid. He could have run away. He could have announced himself as neighborhood watch. He could have not stalked the kid across the grounds of the community, to where he felt threatened.
So he got knocked to the ground, which entitled him to use deadly force.
Anthony was pushed into the bleachers. Doesn't that entitle him to use deadly force?
You kind of doubt it?? no I dont belive that. Look again There are three asian women, one of ME descent, and another woman of color.. so then 7 of the jurors are white.
Jury selection is supposed to eliminate anyone with a bias, supposedly they try to pick jurors who would be impartial. There were three black women who made it to the final cut... but for whatever reason, the attorneys believed the fact they were educators would make them biased. If an all white jury was "selected"
as I believe you previously stated (or was it Rightwinger) then why are there 5 people of color and 3 african american women were strongly considered?
Well Zimmerman wasnt able to run away because martin ended up on top of him. I'm not saying I agree with Zimmermans idea of following someone around with a gun, but if the jury had to decide that at the point Zimmerman felt trapped because he was getting grounded and pounded, I can understand that.
If you really believe though that its ok to use deadly force because someone shoves you, then maybe there should be a lot more stabbings in our highschools, guarantee you there is a lot of shoving that goes on around basketball, football and soccer games.. and probably much worse than what this boy did.
Secondly if you want to compare the Zimmerman case and Metcalf, Zimmerman was all alone, isolated at night with no one to help him. and with a gun that could be taken away.. put yourself in that situation...and then put yourself in a situation like with Metcalf.. where it was in public , there were even a bunch of girls inside the tent as well.. do you really believe you would have the same level of fear?
