Here's the thing. The last time the Republican Party was on the right side of an issue was when they ended slavery. Pretty much since then, they've been on the wrong side of every issue, with a long history of giving us some of the most toxic figures in political history.

The reason why they have survived this in the past is because they've been able to excise the diseased tissue. They denounced Joseph McCarthy, even after he ruined thousands of lives with his witch hunt for Communists who weren't there. They forced Nixon to resign when his guilt was obvious. In short, they put the good of the country and the party above the needs of one man.

The problem is they can't seem to do this with Trump. Most of the Republican establishment knows Trump was bad for the country, a lot of them were hiding under their desks when the mob stormed the Capitol, but they can't bring themselves to anger his cultists.

An Ashli Babbitt statue would soon be erected. It would have been described as a peaceful protest and murals would be painted all over our cities of the participants. NFL players would have taken a knee this past weekend in honor of Jan 6. CNN would have compared Jan 6 to the greatest revolution since the American Revolution and would have likened it to the Allies fighting Hitler. The front lobby of the Capitol would be renamed "Black Lives Matter Way". The Left would have set fires and brought weapons just like they did in the summer of 2020 when over 500 people died.

The real issue here is the lack of transparency in our election process and the Democrats constantly trying to game the system. Thousands if not millions of Americans, ON BOTH SIDES, don't trust our elections. Democrats called Trump illegitimate for 4 years. Why? Because they didn't trust the process. Now in 2020 when Biden won Republicans didn't trust the process. THAT is the real issue here.
