Dick Cheney was very popular at the start of the Iraq War. Now Hollywood makes movies about what a warmonger he was. It’s worth remembering this as Liz Cheney uses his playbook to goad the GOP into war

She is right. Cheney would have been popular in 2001, by 2008, there was no way a Cheney could become president. That's how much they were despised and why a Bush-linked crony named McCain was easily crushed in the G.E. They think 14 years later this broad reputation has improved?

The electorate has changed, so either party leaders shift or they perish. There is a reason the Establishment and media keep trying to dissuade support for certain candidates, they want to continue to run the U.S into blue-ribbon position while they personally make out like gold medal winning bandits.

“Do we sacrifice our ideals in order to preserve security? Will we confront danger and adversity in order to preserve our ideals, or will our courage and commitment to individual rights wither at the prospect of sacrifice?” - Major Ian Fishback in letter to Sen. John McCain, 2005

Fishback, an Army whistle-blower whose allegations that fellow members of the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq routinely beat and abused prisoners prompted the Senate to approve anti-torture legislation in 2005, which Bush grudgingly signed into law, died by suicide in 2021 at 42

You almost gotta laugh. When democrats are in trouble you can count on the fact that Hollywood will cobble together a movie about Nixon or Bush. You almost have to laugh that Clinton administration was a juicy subject for a movie with sex, drugs and rock & roll but H'wood wouldn't dare tarnish the Klinton legacy
