Why doesn’t someone take poor old Jeppie out back and shoot it in the head and end its suffering. It’s clearly in misery.

There was a time when Jeopardy! challenged viewers with academic questions: history, science, mathematics. It was a show where you could test your knowledge, learn something new, and genuinely feel smarter for tuning in. Now, if you learn anything at all, it’s probably something not worth knowing in the first place.

Maybe it’s time for the show to call it quits or at least get back to basics. Who gives a damn about which pop star is dating which rapper? Or which football player tops some fleeting list? Who’s going to care in a hundred years?

Maybe the changes in Jeopardy! reflect the recent devaluation of Western culture and knowledge over the past few years.

"Yes my husband and I have watched for years. The categories are not great and really tired of all the pop culture. We don’t mind one or two but sometimes it’s half the categories. The whole vibe feels off. Maybe they need new writers because it’s just not as enjoyable anymore,” added one viewer"'

They are probably hurting for revenue and selling ads or exposure via the categories to the studios who own music and movie franchises.

There's no money to challenge citizens intellect on subject matter that is most critical to progress.

The show's popularity has declined since Jennings took over. He's one of those who criticized Trump voters as ignorant, so I don't know—but it might be that he antagonized a good segment of the audience.

I haven't heard Ken Jennings say anything about Trump supporters.

And Alex did his share of pop culture questions, so there's that.

Now, I will admit, the show isn't as interesting now. Jennings simply doesn't have Trebek's personality.

he might also be a victim of the end of regular broadcast television. Everyone is streaming now.

I was very confused by last week's Final Jeopardy Question, which implied that William R. Hearst died in 1935. (He died in 1951, but the question asked about how many things he owned in 1935 at the height of his wealth)

I wonder if the Champion who got knocked off was confused, too.

Is he not saying in his post that if people voted for Trump, they're automatically racist? I'm sure people of all racial backgrounds voted for Trump, just as it's possible for someone to hold racist views and vote for Biden. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about individuals who aren't very bright or who are driven by prejudice. As long as they follow the law, I’ll treat them like anyone else. Of course, I might choose to ignore them—but that’s my right.

"This is really unfair to everyone who just voted for him for the racism."

So, um, you are upset about Jennings because he doesn't love Trump?

What does that have to do with the way he runs the game?
