Wait a sec...Didn't they always claim that tax funding was only a tiny fraction of their total income stream?

I think the bigger impact was the closing of USAID and having it folded into the State Department. I think there were a lot of liberal foundations that was getting money from USAID that was also funding CPB. When that spigot closed, CPB not only lost its tax funding, but they also lost the indirect funding from other organizations.
