Just finished adding the first 6 months of data to my weather database which dates from 1951-01-01 to 2021-06-30 and behold, all of the misleading articles
All lies
North America Has Its Hottest June on Record
time.com
www.mprnews.org
"Last month was the warmest June on record in the North America"
Well, not really.
Average temps for this June were 73.10 degrees.
2018 73.69
2010 73.71
1953 73.61
1951 74.48
So, what would it look like if I took the first 6 months average from 1951 to present?
2021 50.74
and here are the warmer first 6 months
2020 51.81
2018 50.91
2017 53.15
2016 52.1
2012 54.47
2006 52.73
2002 51.09
on and on. Since we have such a cold start, that will bring the 6 month average down
So far, I have 799,99,036 rows of data in my main table which can show any county weather from 1951. Combine that together and you get climate. This data is for 48 states [Alaska and Hawaii aren't a part of the NOAA data sets], all brought into my MS-SQL database using SSIS to handle the importing. Hey, data is what I do for a living and for fun
This got started when I kept hearing about the panic porn climate disaster with every warmer, colder, windier,... day from normal and decided to look at the data myself.
Don't believe what you are told - do the research yourself
TMin - the lowest average temp for the first 6 months of the year
TMAX - the highest average temp for the first 6 months of the year
TAVG - the average temps averaged out for the first 6 months of the year
