The ruling paves the way for congestion pricing to begin on Sunday, when most motorists will be charged $9 to enter Manhattan below 60th Street.

WOW, I mean who knew, Liberalism is expensive.

There aren't enough taxpaying citizens in NJ or NY to cover the real costs of either's liberalism.

NY is hurting and has pulled out all the stops in trying to get others to pay their bills. They are also trying to extort money from the oil companies for "climate change".

Blah, let them fight.

Do they really need to charge that much? And why did they outlaw e-bikes?

One would hope that there is a "waiver program" for people who must go to Manhattan for business purposes and don't have access to other transportation means.

I can only feel pity for people who are blind-sided by this. For everyone else, it is just one more factor to take into account when deciding to go there. Or not.

Why couldn't they make it an even $10? Do they want to pretend like they are trying to give The People a break?

Considering how much chaos is occurring in the NYC subways with people getting immolated and pushed in front of trains all of the time, you'd think that the city would be encouraging people to stay above ground in the cars and staying safe?

I suspect those are the ones deemed "safe" by NYC.

It might have something to do with this.

Of course, those that "comply" are all for it.

Not my monkey, not my problem.

OK, so e-bikes aren't banned. I hadn't seen the restrictions noted here. Kinda cool that I support both sides of this argument. It might actually be a valid concern for NY. Hastily put together batteries can cause fires. In a place as tightly packed together as NY, not a good thing.

On the other hand, I understand the people saying "give it a rest with all these regulations". Maybe people would be more receptive over something like this without the attempts to regulated the size of your coke. Lesson likely not learned.

Ofc that douche is all for it because it benefits him. "Physical limitations".
Sounds like gimping.

Well, someone has to pay the cost of caring for all those illegal aliens for the democrats!
Sure glad I don't have a business in Manhattan, just think of all the people who will stay home and not bother going to patronize there now.
If they were smart, they should think of moving out of there to a free American city.

When a new tax enters the picture an entire system of dependency is built behind it staffed with relatives political cronies and so forth who all need a paycheck. $9 is just the beginning.... It'll be up to $20 before long and the reasons given will be inflation, Street maintenance cost, administration costs and so forth when in reality all it is is just another pork barrel siphoning money out of taxpayers pockets and into the bank accounts of a chosen few. The money will never be used for what they claim it's being used for.
