While we're assuming things, may I assume that you also see a direct parallel with surgical procedures on minors (who are not emotionally stable enough to drive a car) and laws that prevented racial marriages? Is this something that you see as making us a better society? Can this connection, as you describe it, be applied across the board to solve all our social ills? Is requiring people to make an effort to support their families and responsibly care for their children a flashback to slave auctions? I can only imagine you assume those things because of your lack of education...

First I believe 15 is the age you're able to get a learners permit, at least it was back when I started driving. But that's only to drive on public roads. My folks and uncles were teaching me to drive manual in my uncles field (they all raced motorcycles and cars back in Jamaica) since I was around the age 9. That said the science behind this is that the part of the brain that controls short term decision making and thrill seeking (like whether or not to drag race that car beside you at the light reving it's engine) doesn't full develop until your mid twenties to early thirties. However the science does say minors are able to make rational long term plans and decisions when they have time to process the information, evaluate various outcomes and they have the guidance of adults and professionals. What makes this a civil rights issue is that you people who wish to deny them medical treatment aren't doing so because of the recommendations of the medical community who largely support gender affirming care, but because of ignorance and bigotry against the community.

The Supreme Court case on child sexual mutilation is just in the argument phase.

A justice's questions to lawyers only shows they are thinking about the arguments presented by the other side and really doesn't indicate what they are thinking the decision should be.

Probably another issue that they will not take up. We are at the point where a person at the end of life and wants to end it in dignity without endless painful suffering for them and family and probable bankruptcy for treatment that is not wanted is prohibited from assistance ( by law and insurance), and the medical profession and pharma industry ($$$) are pushing permanent gender changes for families that may or may not want them either. I can't make this work no matter how it's presented. You and your family can be made homeless by a medical condition and lose everything while illegals can get dialysis and transplants for nothing. This is what results in a corporatocracy.
