Judge directs Trump administration to comply with order to unfreeze federal grants

My gut tells me the judges are playing politics
I would like to disagree. But I’m not at all sure that they aren’t.

Higher courts will review.

Hopefully, at some point, even our judges will learn what they ought to know already which is this:

Judges might harbor different political views than the Administration, but that isn’t a valid basis for inserting their judicial rulings where they don’t belong.

Indeed, I mean who is really surprised that a convicted felon who escaped prison continues to break the law, such a shame, not good for the country.

One judge in one state does not act as judge and jury to thwart the will of POTUS and 75 million that voted for him

‘A federal judge in Rhode Island on Monday ordered the Trump administration to comply with his order to unfreeze federal grants, after attorneys general for several Democratic states claimed the directive was not being fulfilled. In a short order, U.S. District Judge John McConnell directed the Trump administration to “immediately” end any federal funding pause until he decides whether to indefinitely block the freeze while litigation is ongoing.

The judge said specifically that the withheld funds that must be restored include those appropriated under two laws championed by former President Biden — the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Improvement and Jobs Act — and those intended for institutes and other agencies like the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

“The broad categorical and sweeping freeze of federal funds is, as the Court found, likely unconstitutional and has caused and continues to cause irreparable harm to a vast portion of this country,” McConnell wrote.’

Very good.

This is a victory for the rule of law.
It is if he does it. Problem is courts have no independent ability to enforce its rulings.

A future President can reduce to spend allocated funds on the military or border security then?
Can a future president refuse to send money to a particular state - Texas for example?
Biden did exactly that.

Was he impeached for it? No.

But the people remembered and voted him and his replacement out.

U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley -- nominated to the bench by President Joe Biden -- issued a temporary restraining order that blocks the National Institute of Health from taking any steps to implement or enforce their rate change notice.

Transgender dogs, indeed.

Good for the judge..... Now let him enforce it.
Trump can ignore it with impunity because it crosses over the separation of powers.
The judge's bosses Will clue him in on this.

The corrupt politicians are running to all of their liberal judges in a frantic effort to prevent the end of the theft. It won't work.... Trump can ignore the orders with impunity because it crosses over the separation of powers.

Gavelocracy

By design, that hasn't worked out very often. No matter the reason they were originally appointed, judges easily get addicted to the absolute power of judicial review. That is almost incurable.
That may have some validity.

But still. Appellate judges are often more inclined to give deference to the considerations like the facts, the law, precedent and the Constitution.

The Way It Is Doesn't Prove What Should Be

I can't accept the status quo. I have no respect whatsoever for Law School graduates and the dogmas of their political religion. It's all sophistic double-talk, turning language and thought into toys rather than tools for discovering truth and justice.

Those are different concerns.
