U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss said Trump’s proclamation declaring an “invasion” at the border cannot be used to justify the unilateral restrictions he sought to impose on asylum seekers.

President Donald Trump’s effort to crack down on asylum claims by immigrants crossing the southern border vastly exceeded his legal authority and must be halted, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss said Trump’s Jan. 20 proclamation declaring an “invasion” of southern border-crossers cannot be used to justify the “sweeping” unilateral restrictions he sought to impose, including severe limits to asylum applications and the ability to seek protection from torture.

Under Trump’s proclamation, people who crossed the southern border between “ports of entry” are barred from seeking asylum or invoking other legal protections that would allow them to temporarily remain in the U.S. while their claims are processed.

There is no "Invasion D-Day Invasion. The Allied Troops landing in North Africa (Operation Torch) was an Invasion. U>S. Marines landing Guadalcanal was an Invasion. Trump is using hyperbole to scare people. Under Mr. Biden border were low, people wanting sanctuary were at the border pending a hearing. There foreign armed forces crossing our Southern Border, no enemy tanks in San Diego. His use of such language brings but fear and loathing.

More illegal one judge interference which will like all the rest get struck down

Who even claimed that Trump's crackdown was justified by the Jan 20 proclamation?

Seems like a decision in search of a case.

Judge Randolph Moss is a district judge for the District of Columbia. I guess his ruling only applies there.

Another pipsqueak irrelevant district court judge being groomed to be humiliated. Judge Moss' chamber is located in the D.C. district but that will NOT save him from being humiliated senseless, as the statist left "One World Without Borders" crowd has already shot their load & are currently heading towards Davey Jones locker.

He can be safely ignored if the Administration so chooses. Given the nationwide nature of that injunction, he would have to be very specific as to why he issued it. The opinion I saw was nothing but an ideologically motivated one. It doesn't meet the standards the Supreme Court laid out for lower courts at all.

The judge should be investigated for treason. Who is he working for?
After the mid-term elections are over & done with keep your eyes open for statist left minded district court judges being prepped to be launched(impeached).

I hope so.

What we need are indictments yesterday.

I think Pam, Kash, and Dan are in over their heads and wasting valuable time.

Oh OK because USSC just ruled it Can’t be done nationally so does this dunce “think” he has applied it nationally?

We are going to eventually vote for despots. They would have to serve some crumbs to their peasants though. Televised sadistic game shows will appeal to a weary and poorer people from zealots who caused the collapse. And people like this judge will be in it.

Only Judges can reel in Trump's unlawful behavior.
Yes, only in their respective districts, and only to the plaintiffs before them.

You have no idea what this means. No more nationwide injunctions for anyone. That mockery of the justice system has been put down.
