In a land where partisanship doesn't exist.
On 12/08/1980, one of the greatest singers/songwriters of the 20th century was gunned down in front of his apartment building. I barely remember it as I was 5, but I do remember.

Many of you in here were probably not too fond of him, as he was suspected of being pro-Communism. I think that he fought social injustice the only way that he knew how.

I just remember one of the last songs that he recorded before his death. It was/is one of the most moving songs of the 20th, imho. Enjoy! If you have not seen this video and you were a John Lennon fan, get tissue before you watch.

I well remember where I was when I heard the news...

just like I remember where I was when I heard JFK had been shot...

both events were devastating...

here's a tune than will always remind me of that day...

I thought it was pretty cool the way John hooked up with Yoko, who apparently became his muse...

I just wish he hadn't put a microphone in front of her during the recording sessions...

One of my John favorites.

Well, I can burn you a CD of Yoko's greatest hits, if you'd like? ;)

We'll make sure to include this one...since it's her best one; hands down!

Had I been one of the musicians participating in this...I would have walked off that stage after that "performance", and denied my presence at that event. "Nope. Wasn't me." That probably ruined some careers.

Plenty of people who are NOT famous are also killed by nutters.

While I think it tragic that Lennon got killed by one, I continue to fail to understand why some of us want to deify the guy.

Death by nutter is a far too common occurance in this nation, folks.

Lennon was just another victim of it that problem.

I love Lennon. His first solo album was, IMO, the best of the solo Beatles albums.
