I've often Laughed at all those who prayed to their gods or higher powers for John Lennon

GOD 'I don't believe...'

God is a concept by which measures our pain
I'll say it again
God is a concept by which measures our pain

I don't believe in magic
I don't believe in I-ching
I don't believe in Bible
I don't believe in Tarot
I don't believe in Hitler
I don't believe in Jesus
I don't believe in Jesus
I don't believe in Kennedy
I don't believe in Buddha
I don't believe in Mantra
I don't believe in Gita
I don't believe in Yoga
I don't believe in Kings
I don't believe in Elvis
I don't believe in Zimmerman
I don't believe in the Beatles
I just believe in me, Yoko, and me, and that's reality

The dream is over
What can I say?
The Dream is over
Yesterday
I was the Dreamweaver
But now I'm reborn
I was the walrus
But now I'm John
And so, dear friends
You'll just have to carry on
The dream is over

I'm not religious but I always enjoyed the singing and music, even the Latin Mass - habere bonum diem. I still remember the Latin for Mass.

I too am "not religious but I always enjoyed the singing and music, even the Latin Mass"

But I never studied Latin

- habere bonum diem. I still remember the Latin for Mass.

AI Overview

The correct Latin translation for "have a good day" is "Bonum diem habeas" or "Habeas bonum diem". Your phrase "habere bonum diem" is a good start, but it's not grammatically correct for a full sentence.

  • "Habeas bonum diem": This is a more standard and direct translation of "Have a good day".
  • "Bonum diem habeas": This is another grammatically correct way to phrase it, meaning the same thing.

Great song. One of Lennon's best in my humble opinion.

I'm measuring my pain lately

So, say it again...

The worst song ever written in Western culture was "Imagine" by John Lennon.
The second worst was "GOD" by John Lennon.
I loved 99.9% of his work. His early and late Beatles stuff was simply brilliant. (I thought they lost their way in 1965 and 1966).
As a guitar player, I not only admire his composition skills but he was an amazing rhythm guitar player. Hugely underrated.
But once he hooked up with Yoko, Katie bar the door! His talent was being sucked out of him and he was writing some of the most inane hippie garbage ever dreamed up while writhing in some heroin withdrawal exercise or something.
Good Lord. Simply awful.

The early stuff? Bubble gum music? Even McCartney has spoken about how they couldn't wait to move on from the "brilliant "She loves you? "I want to hold your hand" :auiqs.jpg:

So you question my enjoyment of early Beatles songs by questioning my intelligence?
Were you there on February 9, 1964 when they make their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show?
I was.
Were you there before them when the music was dull and bland and then the Beatles blew that all up with their incredible chord changes and harmonies?
I highly doubt it. But I was.
Don't question my integrity, my intelligence or my musical chops - I play guitar.
Because you had to make it person, I deem you a dickhead.
**** you.
