He's too arrogant. This arrogance was built over decades within the protection of powerful people who like to bomb deserts and huts.

Trump walks the line of arrogance but he can also have deprecating humour and he knows where the line is, that's the key. Going up to the line of arrogance but then resetting and being humble.

I've never heard Bolton be humble ever. He can be as sharp as a pencil sometimes but a man must from time to time, even if just within himself say "I don't know everything".

Trump trusts smart people in his orbit. He makes plenty of decisions but he trusts smart people. Bolton seems to trust no one but himself, he has taken on a G-d complex.

I hope he avoids prison but also doesn't get special treatment. A younger generation demand accountability and Trump can get that voter base if he can get libertarians in his circle.
