He was ok as a placeholder President to bring back some sanity.

His mistake for the DEM was not announcing last fall that he'd be a one term President and due to his age wanted to pass the torch to you younger generation. The DEMs could have then held a proper primary.

But he held out for reelection and then dropped out at the last minute. That screwed them and allowed a adulterous, tax evading, business bankrupting, criminal, and someone that charged with espionage to escape prosecution and get back into office.
