Joe Biden Makes Up War Story

I think Biden is trying to lose the race on purpose. Nobody can be this fucked up.

Biden misrepresented nearly every detail of his involvement in a 2008 war story

Former Vice President Joe Biden, currently leading in the polls for the 2020 Democratic nomination, got almost every detail incorrect in the retelling of his participation in a 2008 war story at a campaign stop, the Washington Post reports.

Why it matters: Biden has drawn criticism in recent months for public gaffes and slips, including mistakenly thinking he was vice president during the 2018 Parkland shooting and mistaking Margaret Thatcher for Theresa May.

Details: Per Biden's recollection, a 4-star general asked him to go to Kunar, a province in Afghanistan, while serving as vice president. The purpose of the trip was to award a Silver Star to a Navy captain who'd rappelled a 60-foot ravine while under fire to retrieve the body of a fallen American comrade.

  • Biden said he'd been told the trip was too dangerous, but stated: "We can lose a vice president,” adding, “We can’t lose many more of these kids.”
  • Biden also claimed that the captain was reluctant to take the award, quoting him as saying, "Sir, I don’t want the damn thing!" and adding, “Do not pin it on me, Sir! Please, Sir. Do not do that! He died. He died!"
The intrigue: Almost every part of Biden's account appears false. Per interviews conducted by the Post, Biden got the "time period, the location, the heroic act, the type of medal, the military branch and the rank of the recipient wrong, as well as his own role in the ceremony."

  • Biden was actually a U.S. senator at the time, not the vice president.
  • The military member who performed the rescue was an Army specialist, not a Navy captain.
  • Biden never pinned a Silver Star on that service member.
  • The soldier received a Medal of Honor from President Obama 6 years later, which he graciously accepted.
Per the Post, "One element of Biden’s story is rooted in an actual event: The vice president did pin a medal on a heartbroken soldier, Army Staff Sgt. Chad Workman, who didn’t believe he deserved the award."
Joe “Rambo” Biden has never had a round fired at him in anger in his life. Pussy. I take serious exception to this as I have been in several combat zones in various locations. What a piece of shit.

You're a poser. No one that I know who was in close combat ever speaks about their experience. Each time I walked by the Wall on the Mall I choke up when reading the names of those I grew up with, played ball with and attended school with.

For the record, I never saw combat, I served on a DD on ASW patrols (1967, '68' 69).

At this point I just feel bad for him and his family. Time to call this done....exit the stage, Biden
I really honestly believe he's faking it.
There is no way that Democrats would allow anyone to make a fool of themselves to this level unless it was part of a scam.
I think they have a candidate in waiting to be revealed next year or late this year.
It's probably a former First Lady.

This would be one hell of a scam.

But, you can't deny the possibility. Obama started his campaign super late, and that seem to aid him, because the other contenders had destroyed themselves with negative campaigns.

However, doing that requires a certain level of charisma, and inter-sectionality to pull an 'out-of-the-blue' campaign now that the Democrat base is blindly insane.

I honestly doubt they will be able to pull it off twice. Obama was an except, because he checked off all the magic boxes, and had the charisma to back it.

Yeah, it's possible they could try and run Michael.... but let's be honest, we both know that will never succeed. She has the charisma of a fish. Hillary, I highly doubt she'll ever run again. I would like her too... that would be great. Pretty much locks in a win for the Republicans. But she's dead weight now. Especially after that "It was white women listening to their husbands, that caused me to lose" crap.

I don't see your post about your former experience, less or more valid than the guy you replied to.

Regardless, Biden is not soldier, and shouldn't make up false stories, to try and appeal to soldiers.

If you are going to say something from your personal experience, that's fine... but make it real, or forget about it.

I would kick the fuck out of you. What is a “poser?” You’ve been watching too many Wayne’s World re-runs. Everyone I know does talk about our experience...we stay connected and we were there. You are a fucking idiot, senile hero Biden is a piece of shit who has been called out on his bogus claims. You’re a lying sack of shit too. How long did it take you to find out what a DD 214 was on the Internet? There are 58,000 names on the Vietnam Memorial Wall. But apparently you personally knew a multitude of names on it. Calling bullshit on you. Is this Joe Biden!

We’re you and your squid plane flying into Bosnia when Hillary and NBC’s Brian Williams we’re shot at? Perhaps Joe Biden parachuted down and killed 11 Serbian soldiers? :cuckoo:

Gee, what a surprise, the usual dirt bags attacking VP Biden in a circle jerk of assholes. The assholes forgive the biggest asshole who lies and lies and lies and does so with malicious intent.
Yo, Qdog. When you get tired of talking stupid on the message board why don't you get out there and clean up the sidewalk poop in your liberal utopia? Or maybe you like living like that.

Your button was pushed, and if you want to post your 214 please do; If I see you are not full of bullshit - which seems to be the genre you've adopted, I'll offer my mea culpa.

You are fueled by hate, and those with the same experience do share their feelings, but going on the internet and making such a claim is not what they do.

Looks like Biden got caught stretching the truth

What was the impact of Biden’s misrepresentation?
He was talking about the valor of US Troops

Now, let’s look at Trumps stretching the truth

He says he saw thousands of Muslims dancing on rooftops in NJ on 9-11
What was the impact of Trumps misrepresentation?
He spread hatred and fear of US Muslims
I can see Trump's misstatement as a mistake.
NBC covered all of the cheering....and I think Trump honestly felt it was in Jersey.
After all...it was 18 years ago.
Biden had to think of that story and knew it was a lie way in advance.

Biden’s story was a combination of three stories from 10 years ago
All concerned valor of individual soldiers with Biden giving a medal on one

Trumps story was designed to generate hate and fear of fellow Americans. Nobody reported American Muslims celebrating on 9-11

One reporter filed a report of a few Jews appearing to celebrate. When that reporter would not back Trumps claim of thousands of Muslims celebrating.......Trump mocked that reporters handicap
Lol, yes Muslims did celebrate on 911. So you gonna start counting Biden's lying, or you gonna be YOUR usual hypocrite self?

We trained with reconnaissance planes, my GQ's station was in a 5" gun, I was the projectile man, taking the projectile from the hoist and placing it in front of the brass. You want more details, let me know. I'll be happy to provide them.

I don't think so. Biden didn't think he'd be called out on it- he thought as a Democrat he could lie with the impunity of a Clinton and get away with it.

Biden's weak point is that he thinks he's a success and a proven leader. When the reality of the situation is that Mr. Biden was chosen as Obama's running mate as an Insurance Policy against assassination and impeachment. No one would be anxious to get rid of the Big O considering the doofus waiting in the wings to take power.

That doesn't make Bite Me a "leader" and doesn't make him qualified to do shit.

Mental health professionals call that confabulation. Confabulations like that are a symptom of brain damage. As a type of defense mechanism, the patient will create confabulations to replace memory gaps in order to present a facade of normalcy. Oftentimes they will "remember" events that never happened. And sometimes these confabulations may consist of snippets of several different events rolled into one.

Biden is not well.

Joe Biden Unapologetic for Fabricating Afghan War Story: ‘Essence’ Was True

WTF does he mean by Essence????

Is this the way they're going to explain away all of their fabrications?
The Essence....meaning their GD intentions were pure....even though the whole thing was absolute BS.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is unapologetic for fabricating an emotional story about the war in Afghanistan, claiming its “essence” is true.
Biden, who is under fire after The Washington Post exposed a story he told about pinning a medal on a reluctant Navy officer as inaccurate, defended his conduct while campaigning in South Carolina on Thursday.

“I don’t understand what they’re talking about, but the central point is it was absolutely accurate what I said,” Biden told The Post and Courier when asked about the controversy. “He refused the medal. I put it on him, he said, ‘Don’t do that to me, sir. He died. He died.’”

The story, in question, entailed the former vice president being asked by a four-star general to travel to Afghanistan to honor a Navy captain who risked his life to save a downed comrade. As Biden recollected to more than 400 voters in New Hampshire last week, the captain “rappelled down a 60-foot ravine under fire and retrieved the body of an American comrade, carrying him on his back.” When the captain’s superiors sought to honor his bravery with a “Silver Star,” the officer refused, as his comrade had died during the mission.

Initially, raw emotion Biden exhibited during its telling made a significant impression on those in attendance, including members of the press. Unfortunately for Biden, however, the story’s strong impression also meant it would be heavily scrutinized for accuracy — a process it could not withstand.

As the Washington Post reported on Thursday, “almost every detail in the story appears to be incorrect” upon closer investigation.
