What I don’t understand is how he can perform like that in the debate, and then moments later at the after party..and then the next day at a rally, be a completely different person, back to being energetic, speaking out with his voice and all that…how does that happen?

I would have agreed but both Obama and Clinton came out supporting Joe today. Virtually the entire media has called on Joe to step aside but it looks like the party elite supports him. Unless it's all a phony act for the cameras. Or they are trying to give Joe some time to avoid the embarrassment of quitting right after the debate.
