That was Ernst’s reply to a town hall participant who noted that the proposed Medicaid cuts was going to kill people

Unfortunately that is the Trumper/Republican way of thinking

I just read this. This is the mindset of the repub party. "Well, we're all going to die." But if you are a billionaire that trump has pardoned or sold his crazy crypto to, you will not hear this from the repub. If this bill passes, which it probably will, the Dems need to repeat over and over statements like this and provisions in the bill that hurt the poorest of the poor. trump does not care about his voters. He doesn't need them anymore. The red states are going to be the hardest hit from his evil agenda.

"Ernst defended the spending reforms in a House-passed budget reconciliation package that are intended to stop people who crossed into the country illegally from receiving federal benefits."

I'm all for it.
$880 billion in cuts to Medicaid is HUGE, much much much more than the 10 billion that might be worked around to get it to an illegal, who generally do not qualify for Medicaid.

This $880 billion in cuts will hurt the poor working Americans that did not earn enough to get on Obamacare,
and who also earned too much to qualify for Medicaid earnings cut off.

The Obama care Medicaid expansion Americans....

Then, without insurance our Hospitals will be inundated in their Emergency Rooms, with people who don't have the money to pay, the hospital has to give them care under law and will get some reimbursement but not enough ....not enough to save breaking some of these Hospitals in to shutting down, hurting all of us in the long run, imo.

Medicaid also pays about 40% of the costs of all seniors in nursing homes.

Medicaid pays 40% of all American children's healthcare.

And Medicaid pays for the healthcare of the Disabled.

Along with covering the healthcare of those who earn less a year, than the U.S. Poverty line.

$880 billion in cuts to Medicaid and the Food assistance program are going to hurt working Americans, in a really big way....imo.

I agree with Republicans that the "social safety net" needs to be tightened up to ensure that only the eligible can get benefits. If people lose government freebies they may take the hint that they need to look for work. Welfare needs to be put back to a 2-year lifetime limit like Clinton signed.

Well, the left abandoned them years ago and turned their attention to helping illegal aliens with funds and to avoid the law.
Without access to affordable health care, Americans will die the consequence of this reckless, irresponsible legislation.

For many, by the time they go to an emergency room, it's too late.

The Medicaid cuts aren't going to kill anyone. The huge majority of the cuts are just making able bodied people work. If able bodied people don't want to work then screw 'em.

They have to work, with a few exceptions, to get most of all the different kinds of welfare assistance, and have kids in their households. Their employers can not afford to pay for healthcare insurance benefits for their employees...is why they have no insurance coverage.

Clinton had a few exceptions up to 5 years, what makes you think it changed?
