Despite the failure of President Obama’s jobs bill in the Senate last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Monday that Senate Democrats will continue to “pursue” $30 billion in education stimulus spending included in the bill, along with $5 billion to “retain” police, firefighters and first responders.
Reid: Dems will ‘pursue’ $35 billion stimulus in Obama jobs bill

What we got here is another financial injection for unions. I thought that schools, police and firefighters are funded by local taxes. If those locals need more money let them raise it thru the taxes in those communities, why federal gov't has to be involved.

Beside, how long $35 billion will last? Maybe a year, just enough until the election. And then what, cry for another stimulus?

We need to buy the votes of other government employees. Otherwise those fat benefits will get shaved.

Yes Virginia, there really are jealous people. No, not those who are green with envy and 'hate' billionaires, but those too physically and mentally weak and cowardly to serve and protect their community. Pity them, they are creatures of the keyboard, small people, petty people, callous people; conservative people who know little and profess much. They are the echo chamber, hear them whine.

Of course. Proposed funding is for one year only. It will ensure their votes in the next election. If republicans win, there will be no more stimulus and teachers, policemen and firefighters will most likely lose their jobs and be pissed off on republicans and vote for democrats again.

It is the idiots on the left that know little and profess much, they prove it all the time, case in point, obamaturd.
