Jobless applications hit 43-year low

Weekly applications for jobless benefits dropped 19,000 in the week ending Nov. 12 to a seasonally adjusted 235,000, the lowest level since Nov. 24, 1973, when it was 233,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Applications for benefits have remained below 300,000 for 89 straight weeks, the longest streak since 1970 when the labor force and U.S. population was much smaller.

Can you imagine what Trump's going to do?

Now, watch USBM right wingernut tards come at us with "Oh, but 94 million Americans aren't working". Anytime you post numbers that show where the economy really is, they always post that stupid nonsense. They must be addicted to it.

What do you think will happen when Trump starts messing around with trade agreements?

Or better yet, when his base finds out those factories came back, but not the jobs? Because they were automated? That Trump gave them a barrel full of lies and scams?

They knew who he was. They know he scams. But they wanted change. And boy, are they going to get change. Right up the old wazoo.

and if this guy ends up being a pretty good President, will we see you here saying so?.....or will you "disappear" .....

The long term unemployed can't get re-apply to get more benefits, so it only follows that new applications would be down after 8 years of economic anaemia.

Get over it. Apparently the next Republican president was born 70 years ago.

Neither. It means fewer people were laid off last week (and eligible for UI) than any week since 1973.

You mad bro?

Just remember Clinton handed Bush a great economy and he turned it into the Great Recession.

The October jobs report shows that the American economy continued its solid recovery from the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes in October, with the addition of 161,000 jobs. All told, American businesses have added 15.5 million jobs since February 2010, and we are in the longest streak of overall job growth on record.

Thanks Obama. But in a year from now you'll point to Trump and say look at how good of a job he did not realizing that Obama handed him a good economy and you forget/ignore the shit sandwich Bush handed Obama. AND you forget the shit sandwich daddy bush handed Bill Clinton.

The American people get what they deserve. They want cons running the show, so be it.

I know idiots like you won't admit it if Trump sucks so maybe the dark people who thought voting doesn't matter will wake up in 2-4 years but I doubt it.

My prediction: As soon as Trump is in charge you will start to tell people who are unemployed or underpaid that THEY are responsible for themselves. No one else. Not Trump, not Mitch McConnell or Paul Ryan. You will tell these people they need to go back to school or start a business.

You will tell people who aren't saving enough for retirement that they spend too much. You will stop talking about them making more money because the corporations are who you serve and they don't want to pay more. And you will start saying if we pay employees more the cost of their products will go up. And you will stop talking about fixing NAFTA.

You will not care that CEO pay is going up while labor's wages are stagnant. That will be ok with you because you guys care most about the CEO and less about the worker.

You can't flip completely over night. You will slowly stop caring about the uneducated and blue collar. But being a nationalist and populist Trump will still do well with those white blue collar uneducated racists. They are used to being broke. They'll blame Obama because he's black but never Trump.

Our only hope is people wake up and show up to vote next time. Too many people stayed home and handed Trump the world. Idiots.

Been saying that for years, why would I stop now?

You will tell these people they need to go back to school or start a business.

If they aren't making it on their own, they should.

My grandfather refused charity, including Social Security, (He didn't pay into it as a farmer, saw no reason for them paying him to set on his ass), Dad refuse charity, only what he had earned.

His children, (my brothers and sister), have been the same.

If you can't find a job, make one for yourself.

Then there was no reason for voters to be angry with Democrats. Obama got us out of the Bush recession. We should have elected Hillary to keep things going in the right direction.

So what Trump should have said is, "vote for hillary and if you aren't making enough money go back to school or start your own country because it is not Obama or Clinton's fault you are a loser.

Trump won't fix NAFTA.

Yeah, that Internet Bubble, how did Clinton do it? Thanks Al Gore!!! LOL!

If the Real Estate Bubble had grown for 2 more years, we'd be able to say that Bush handed Obama a great economy. If the Internet Bubble popped a year sooner, we'd be able to say that Clinton handed Bush a recession.

Thanks Obama.

Yup, hiking taxes, piling on regulations and stoking racial tensions.....he did it all.
Oh, yeah, and another $10 trillion in debt. Cool!

AND you forget the shit sandwich daddy bush handed Bill Clinton.

You mean the Peace dividend and the recession that ended in March 1991?
Yeah, worst economy in 50 years, eh moron?

He's amazing!! What exactly did he do to get the recession to end in June 2009?

Can you spell it out?
