I can't imagine this much legal fire power being assembled without the intention of real destruction.
This suit should include civil-right claims under Title 28 USC Sec. 1983 for violating the various plaintiffs’ constitutional rights. That allows them to seek punitive damages and attorneys' fees against all defendants including the University (if named).
