That's mighty selective of you, Cammmpbell.
Sure, Christians are instructed to be meek, to turn the other cheek, and to refrain from reprisals, but that's only because
"VENGEANCE IS MINE" (says the Lord).
As for hating the wicked nonetheless, it's totally Biblical.
Psalms 139:19-22 (NASB)
19 O that You would slay the wicked, O God;
Depart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.
20 For they speak against You wickedly,
And Your enemies take Your name in vain.
21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with the utmost hatred;
They have become my enemies.
See, that's the beauty of Christianity: things like hatred and meekness (turning the other cheek while simultaneously longing to wash one's own feet in the blood of the person laying the smack down on you) aren't mutually exclusive in terms of proper Christian etiquette.
Can I get an "AMEN"?
