DNA testing is extremely unreliable.
Not only would an object placed on a desk likely attract DNA of the person using the desk, but all human DNA actually is 99.99% identical.
It is very hard to tell who any DNA came from.

A DNA test is a very odd and inappropriate process to do over a noose.
Touching a noose will not transfer very much DNA.
But the desk used by a person would have lots of dead skin dust on it, and would easily transfer to the noose.
