Sadly, we found out this morning that the legendary Jerry Remy lost his 7th and final battle with cancer. RIP
 
Like hero, the term legendary is too generously applied. He was a good mid level baseball player, and a very good play by play announcer.

But legendary is reserved for people who are synonomous with a sport. Murray Walker and F1 as a for instance.

thats what i am saying.....babe ruth was a legend.....ted williams was a legend.....the word genius is another word that is thrown around at people who are not geniuses...
 
It's up for interpretation, I'm a legend because I'm still breathing after all
these years....IMO.
I sure you will disagree with that. See? It's all good
yea but in the PO they still talked about you years after you retired......that is legendary.....
