The U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol is a select committee of the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, which was the culmination of Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 US presidential election in part by telling many falsehoods about it instead of conceding defeat to Joe Biden.

In fairness, this country has never seen anything like this. A true political cult of personality, not seen (outside of North Korea) since Europe of about 85 years ago. Neither party has known what to do about it, and now it appears to be too late.

I think we all just assumed that America had evolved far beyond this.
