I went to Cap Haitan in the Navy, I guess around 1968 when I was stationed in Rosevelt Rhodes in PR. There is a citadel fort overlooking the bay there where the slave rebel Christobal held off somebody sometime for a little while. I remember he must have had some sand then. Never take a cab on either side of the Island. It was a beautiful but very poor place then, a lot like Puerto Rico in topography.

The Brits gave up control and responsibility decades ago so maybe good old Uncle Sam will have to pick up the tab for rebuilding a little country that doesn't have the revenue to rebuild itself.
