Some Conservative Voices Raise Alarm Over Trump’s Immigration Tactics

Influential figures on the right have largely cheered on the opening months of the Trump presidency. But as the administration has rushed to carry out deportations as quickly as possible, making mistakes and raising concerns about due process along the way, the unified front in favor of President Trump’s immigration purge is beginning to crack.

When the administration deported a professional makeup artist and accused him of being part of a criminal gang, the enormously popular podcaster Joe Rogan balked.

ā€œYou’ve got to get scared that people who are not criminals are getting lassoed up and deported and sent to El Salvador prisons,ā€ Mr. Rogan, who endorsed Mr. Trump, said on his show ā€œThe Joe Rogan Experience.ā€ He added that the case was ā€œhorrific.ā€

When the administration arrested a former Columbia University graduate student who had been involved in campus protests, the far-right commentator Ann Coulter questioned the move.

ā€œThere’s almost no one I don’t want to deport, but unless they’ve committed a crime, isn’t this a violation of the First Amendment?ā€ Ms. Coulter wrote on social media.

It's a start. But what is really needed is for congressional Repubs to do the here to for unthinkable. Call out the trump regime for their abuses of power. For its illegal and immoral acts. Use their investigative authority. Act like patriots, not cowards only interested in staying on Don's good side.

Until then, the regime will do what it has done with respect to the Signal chat scandal. Deny, lie, obfuscate, and move on.

You are supporting the TRUE Regime. The Democrats use their media control to distort reality and keep all of you idiots enraged and attacking innocent Americans.

Fuck off. Keep the deportations going, it has 70% support.

Joe Rogan isn't a conservative.

Rogan considers himself a progressive. Ouch.

Sounds like you and Joe Rogan have a problem.

The problem is that liberals, in a quest to infest America with as many foreigners as possible under biden, so enraged average Americans that your usual sob stories no longer move the needle

We keep hearing that the guy is gay

BFD

Who cares?

Maybe he should have been sent back to Venezuela instead of El Salvador

He had a chance to self deport but chose to stay and take his chances

I see what you're saying. You're saying that the right should be more like the left's Borg Collective where everyone is afraid to say anything outside the party talking points.

Of course, all of this could have easily been avoided by not putting Trump back in the WH.

Hence the stupidity of Trump voters, by not believing Trump would do what he said he’d do.

Last, this is typical of the idiotic right, whining about abuse and civil rights violations after voting for Trump – who is a hateful racist and bigot.

Only anti-Americans like Clayton pine for Kamala Harris as President and the little Cuban traitor Myorkas still in charge of collapsing our border. Trump and Musk are a literal GOD SEND for the US. If you don't like America being restored, go firebomb a Tesla dealership.

Tonight, the Senate passed a bill stating the obvious. That trump claiming emergency power to "fix" the economy because it was in crisis was bullshit. Essentially taking his ability to unilaterally declare these tariffs away. Except Mike Johnson decided the rest of the year is only one day long. So the House can't vote on the Senate bill.

How long before trump's wrath against congressional Repubs who dare to state the obvious, he's clueless, is less important than the wrath of their constituents?
