The owners of a bakery in Texas have been arrested for harboring illegals. It's about time they started going after employers.

Trump was an illegal employer himself half way through his first term. A story was going to come out so he got ahead of it and got rid of them. Were they arrested for harboring illegals as opposed to hiring illegals? (kinda hard to tell with no link to anything).
/---/ Does it matter? Al Capone was convicted of tax evasion and got 11 years. They didn't get him on murder, bootlegging, and extortion as planned. Jail is jail. Were they arrested for harboring illegals as opposed to hiring illegals? (kinda hard to tell with no link to anything).

Reclaiming the Issues: "It's an Illegal Employer Problem"
Every time the media - or a Democrat - uses the phrase "Illegal Immigration" they are promoting one of Karl Rove's most potent Republican Party frames.www.thomhartmann.com
I'm glad you are coming around now that you are in charge.
Clinton was doing his job. Bush stopped. ON PURPOSE. Because the illegal employers asked him to stop enforcing the laws.
"Between 1999 and 2003, work-site enforcement operations were scaled back 95 percent by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, which subsequently was merged into the Homeland Security Department. The number of employers prosecuted for unlawfully employing immigrants dropped from 182 in 1999 to four in 2003, and fines collected declined from $3.6 million to $212,000, according to federal statistics.
"In 1999, the United States initiated fines against 417 companies. In 2004, it issued fine notices to three."
/----/ How else can resort owners get housekeeping help when they can't afford to live near their jobs? They bus in illegals.Trump was an illegal employer himself half way through his first term. A story was going to come out so he got ahead of it and got rid of them.
And I bet he put them back once the heat was off.
Republicans defended him by saying "oh you think Trump does the hiring?"
No. Trump hires a 3rd party to do all that. Another company. That way he and his company can't get in trouble. That's his move. Just like Trump Corp got busted for tax fraud and his CFO went to jail for a minute. God how many men have gone to jail for this man?
It was bad during that period in construction with all the illegals flooding the market. Finally you are agreeing with us liberals? We've been saying that since the Bush years.

Back when 35% of Americas workforce was unionized, companies couldn't get away with it. If one shop was union and the other was not and the union guys got wind the competition was hiring illegals, well.... we raided them./----/ "Finally you are agreeing with us liberals? We've agreed with this since day one. Every business is forced to hire cheap illegals. It's the only way they can compete. All it takes is on the contractor to hire illegals and undercut the competition, then all follow suit to stay in business.
It doesn't make it right, but that's the reality.
Hate to tell you this, but 183 out of the tens of thousands of companies in the country is nothing. They were making a token gesture at best and did not want to really do anything about it.Finally you are agreeing with us liberals? We've been saying that since the Bush years.

Arrested for harboring, not for employing them.
Los Fresnos bakery owners arrested for harboring migrants illegally in US
Landscaping too. Pool cleaning companies. Maids in hotels. Fast food. Grocery stores. One time I flew into NY for a change over and every employee there had a heavy accent. It was bad during that period in construction with all the illegals flooding the market.
Did you read the op ed I posted from a liberal back in the Bush years? You don't have to. It was this part in it I want to point out:
Every time the media - or a Democrat - uses the phrase "Illegal Immigration" they are promoting one of Karl Rove's most potent Republican Party frames.
The reality is that we don't have an "Illegal Immigration" problem in America. We have an "Illegal Employer" problem.
Yet it's almost never mentioned in the mainstream media, because to point it out could slightly reduce the profits and CEO salaries of many of America's largest multi-state and multinational corporations - who both own the media and contribute heavily to conservative politicians. Republicans would prefer that the "criminals" covered in the press are working people, and that corporate and CEO criminals not get discussed.
Think about it. If we didn't have illegal employers the Mexican's here would just be visitors. Like if a Canadian comes here to spend money. Or like how I'm in Florida right now spending money. If Florida had a law that only Floridiots could work at Florida business' and a company hired me, it's that company who's a traitor to the citizens of this country. But Trump would prefer we attack the immigrants. Play wack a mole with them.
/---/ That was true in unionized Blue States, but not in Red States.Back when 35% of Americas workforce was unionized, companies couldn't get away with it. If one shop was union and the other was not and the union guys got wind the competition was hiring illegals, well.... we raided them.

As an employer, if an illegal gives you the correct paperwork, what are you gonna do about it? An employer HAS TO complete an I-9 form certifying that a person is a citizen. If the paperwork is in order, then what?Did you read the op ed I posted from a liberal back in the Bush years? You don't have to. It was this part in it I want to point out:
