I read both sides of an issue. Videos do not have a good history. You can post a video to a page but it might be three years old and not date, who filmed it, who the people are in the video, etc., are not included. There is not providence.
You are entitled to believe that, and I am sure video can be used as "creatively" as print, with excepts strung together out of context to misrepresent what was said or what truly occurred, but in the case of this video and all the others I post, I think their very nature precludes that type of abuse. I am convinced they accurately represent what actually occurred, or accurately portray what their producer was trying to convey, and see no reason to think otherwise. So if you want to support that accusation, then find an unedited version and post it and I will eat my hat. Its possible.
But the first day i was on this website I noticed that
1) many of these folks do not have the sort of commitment to truth that would lead them to read sources from their opposition, and
2) they are trying to make Arabs out to be congenital liars.
So I said to myself, "Well, this ought to be fun! I am going to limit myself to Israeli, Zionist, and Jewish sources to make my points." And I found so much it has truly been a wonderful exercise.
Propaganda, satire, inaccuracies, I post to show how far, or low, oppositions will go, or the ridiculousness of what they are saying. I don't post them as factual. I show them as examples of lies or sensationalism.
I prefer to keep this a discussion of words not clips that too often are take out of context or worse actually referring to a different issue or place altogether.
I don't think that accusation has any substance at all with reference to any of the clips I have posted. The editing has all been done by the sources themselves, not by a third party. Like I said, if you want to try to prove otherwise, by all means go for it.
You really do love the sound of your own voice, so to speak. You can't help responding to each and every post as if it were your personal e-mail. For someone largely clueless of the facts, you have a lot to say and are exceptionally opinionated, not in a good way.
Like I said, it is a learning process for me. So I jump in. This is an anonymous forum so I might as well go for it, see what the opposition has to say, do my best to refute it, find what I can find, and make my mistakes here. Why not?
It is like some relay game, with a half dozen people. When one get exhausted or credibility drops too low, they drop out and the next person comes in fills the board with their stock of disinformation. I can't even say they are pro-palestinians because in truth the posters don't see to really care for them. It is more an effort to somehow defame Israel. I really wish they would get some new material, the old stuff has been over used and long since debunked.
We use what we've got, and frankly if it isn't sterling at least, I don't bother with it. There is too much good stuff out there to waste time on low quality polemic. Thirty or forty years ago Israel had a monopoly on disinformation. Now there is an entire army of dissenting voices and it seems many, many people have seen right through Zionism. That makes things easier.
If the posters were not so consumed in attacking Israel, it would be interesting to have an honest calm and rational examination of some of the policies of Israel and the PA, and ways to make change or application faster and better. It really does not have to be an either or. People are so busy offense and defense that so many better ideas never get present.
What a waste of our time with the confrontational games. Real issues and imaginative ideas will never really get their due.
That is pretty much what I said when I first started posting, check my first few posts, and I got called an Islamofascist or whatever silly nonsense, so the gloves came off. I can definitely embarrass Israel. But I would rather work toward some sort of constructive dialogue. Which is happening, just not on this forum yet unfortunately.
