Egypt court sentences 183 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to death - Yahoo News

CAIRO (Reuters) - An Egyptian court sentenced 183 supporters of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood to death on Monday on charges of killing police officers, part of a sustained crackdown by authorities on Islamists.

The men were convicted of playing a role in the killings of 16 policemen in the town of Kardasa in August, 2013 during the upheaval that followed the army's ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Mursi. Thirty-four were sentenced in absentia.

Egypt has mounted one of the biggest crackdowns in its modern history on the Brotherhood since the political demise of Mursi, the country's first democratically-elected president.

Then you could say that the Muslim nation of Egypt fights Muslim terrorism....
There ya go. Every Muslim nation should fight Islamic terrorism the way Egypt is doing now.

Obama is already pissed at Egypts decision. He just had the MB for dinner and drinks.

It's why he was trying to keep Morsi in power. It didn't work out for him.

Whoever thought we'd see the day that Egypt would crack down on Terrorist organizations like Muslim Brotherhood while our own Government grants the very same group not only a safe haven but appoint them to advisory positions? Oy vey.

I wonder if the MB that was responsible for the gang rape of the female journalist was some of those that they sentenced to death? I'm thinking of the American one whose liberal newspaper boss wouldn't permit her to talk about it. But then there was this one too.

Dutch female reporter gang-raped by 5 men in violent Egyptian protests New York Post

A young female journalist was gang-raped during violent mass protests in Egypt on a night that saw 44 sickening attacks on women.

Five men attacked the 22-year-old Dutch woman in Tahrir Square, Cairo, leaving her in a “severe condition” and needing surgery.

Reports also claimed a grandmother and a seven-year-old child were sexually assaulted.

The Dutch woman is thought to have been an intern taking pictures of the protests for an Egyptian news organization.

The attack comes just two years after a leading US reporter was molested by gangs of men while covering demonstrations in the same sqaure.
_____________
What was that woman's name, Hoss? Her first name was Laura I believe. I cannot recall her first name. Didn't she work for the New York Post? They ran this story but declined on running hers. Interesting how they cannot manage to say her name. Isn't it?

I got it. It was Lara Logan. She worked for CBS. Here is the story:

CBS News Lara Logan Assaulted During Egypt Protests - CBS News

On Friday, Feb. 11, the day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a "60 Minutes" story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.

In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently home recovering.

Update: Logan left the hospital on Wed. Feb. 16, to recover in her Washington, D.C. home. She received a call from President Obama expressing his concern.

______________
It was some time later she came out with story she was raped. Sad story.

Yes, the Egyptians were harboring the Islamist snake that kept attacking the Israelis (while denying knowledge of it, of course), just like the Pakistanis do with the Taliban.

Until one day they realized the snake is trying to swallow them as well. Now they have a new leader in Sissi that has realized this snake needs to be put down, for the sake of the nation.

No, I didn't forget.

So then you know that it was through democratic elections and even despite the military breaking election laws.
