Man shot dead after bank robbery convicted of threatening Obama in '10 - CNN.com

Court records show Garnett pleaded guilty to those threats, was sentenced to eight months in federal prison and ordered to get mental health care upon his release.
He was not allowed to own a gun.

After leaving the bank with a bag and gun, Garnett was approached by a police officer and started shooting. The officer retreated, but an undercover detective was nearby and shot Garnett in the upper body, said Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes.

He illegally bought a weapon, what does that have to do with the second amendment?

By the way you could outlaw all guns today and it would not effect illegal sales at all. Just like they smuggle drugs and people over the border they will do so with firearms. Or steal them from manufacturers, National Guard armories or police stations.

He was not allowed to own a gun.

Just goes to show that banning guns and abolishing the second amendment will not solve the problem.

Yes thanks for showing the far left efforts to do so it futile and proves that the only people that would have guns are the government and the criminals.

Great day? Do you ever read the links you post? The gun was illegally purchased! You will NEVER hear of a law abiding gun owner perpetrating a crime like this.

Here's a conundrum for you:

Armed robber comes in, starts shooting up the joint, a card carrying citizen gets bold and shoots the robber dead. Should we ban guns for what the robber did, or encourage ownership because of what the card carrying citizen did in saving lives?

And that's why it's a great day for the second amendment. No amount of laws will stop criminals from getting guns.

That isn't the message I got. Are you toying with us?

It's a great day for dumb fucks who say baseless dumb shit about the 2nd Amendment...

We do?

Some do - the "sovereign citizen" ones.

But no, it's not a universal thing amongst "Second Amendment proponents".

And perhaps the OP was talking about how the robber was killed by the good guys? But that doesn't really make sense either.

Really never? You sure you want to say never?

Are you saying guns aren't being sold illegally at gun shows?

Post links or shut the fuck up, you absurd liar.
Yeah, incidents like that do not come from lawful citizens. No amount of regulation will reduce crime. It has been proven over and over that the formula is more guns=less crime.

Seems to me that EVERY American citizen should be given a gun when born. Then everybody would have one and there would be no more crime, murders or suicide by gun.

Stands to reason that the world would just be a much better place when we all have guns? And the freedom to use them. It will be so cool. Stand your ground. Shoot to kill. Practice practice practice.

Are we there yet? No? Well tell the NRA to get those newborns a damn gun. Something in blued steel for the boys and something kinda pink (not blood red) for the girls. Do you think there should be trigger guards for the little ones? Fuck no. If those toddlers can't figure out the safety on their own damn gun, what good are they?

God, America is going to be such a nice place to live. Just as soon as ALL of us are armed to the teeth.
And that includes the toddlers. Gotta start em young.

I'll take a stab here.

Maybe the OP was drawing the reference to a good guy with a gun is an excellent response to a bad guy with a gun. Let's say the near-by detective was just another lawful armed citizen? It's happened over and over. Armed citizens have not only saved their own lives, or that of family, but have also saved lives of law enforcement and citizens.

Pro 2nd Amendment consequences

I am a second amendment proponent. Most liberals are.

Yea, they are typically for incremental, small 'infringements' on the Second Amendment

-Geaux

I have a rule. The rule says that whenever someone states "I am a gun owner. I am pro Second Amrndment. But my gun isn't the problem. It's that ofther person's gun that's the problem" then that person is an asshole and an anti0gunner.
