It does not matter how many people voted for senators in other states. The current argument is that more democrats voted for senators then republicans which has no bearing whatsoever on statewide elections. Just because more democrats voted in New York and California then some republican state had republicans vote has no bearing on why the senate has the mix it has.

Another thing I find a lot is some poll showing that some Republican governor is the most unpopular governor in the country and the poll isn't even a poll from that state, it is a poll from all 50 states. This is a common trick leftists play. The only polls that could possible matter in such a case is only a poll from that particular state.
