Early reports are saying that China is going to be giving up more than America in the deal.
Which Democrats (Mod Edit: Don't call out other members) going to hate, Trump making a right call - they can't have that.
So - fully expect the negative spin and marginalizing whatever the end results are, no matter what they are.
The markets will fly high once this deal is announced. Likely to return to pre-tariff numbers - which also the Dems and the Macs are going to hate.

I think this is a bad decision for Trump. What is the rush? Why would you want to arm the nation that will conquer America once the next president takes office rather than decoupling, removing their dishonest companies from your exchanges etc.

Trump should have been Reagan and stayed the course for at least a year.

The Dems are going to call this a sucker deal when China disregards the terms and Americas Middle Class is left behind with empty promises. He is saving the Communists if he makes a deal this quickly. Reagan would have crushed them, hence his legacy.

What will Trumps legacy be if he lets the CCP off the map after 100k dead Americas a year, in addition to so many abuses? His legacy will be a Second Term but the next president will get crushed by the CCP.

Apple is now leaving China as are others. They are on the ropes and manufacturing will be forced back to the U.S. There is no need to make a deal this quickly, you can be sure Taiwan or Japan doesn't want the U.S to make a deal without getting a pound of flesh.

To hell with the stock market, do it right. The West has to stop digging their own graves to appease these criminals.

So, all this tariff crap was nonsense and Trump will take a victory lap.

Doesn't matter.
The American people have no patience whatsoever for economic discomfort, not even a little. Americans would not suffer it. Trump has known all along that he needs a deal within a few months- tops. Because if it lasted longer - his support would nose dive and the Republicans would lose mid terms hands down.
You are right that this is a great opportunity to get rid of the hardened Xi, his reign is already in turmoil now - and exactly why they will give in.

It makes absolutely no difference what kind of deal Trump reaches with China.

To MAGA, it will be the most amazing thing in the world.

They’re all Trump boot lickers.

Trumps legacy will be as a weak leader who didn't have the courage to speak bluntly to Americans about what was at stake. Americans will be the suckers.

You can bet his strongest China Hawk supporters will see yet another lost opportunity. A decade from now all of the West will be grovelling at the feet of the CCP who easily outsmarted the weak Western leaders.

Stop bending the G-damn knee!

Remember when Trump negotiated a deal with Canada and Mexico in his first term and it absolutely amazing and the best ever?

And then a few years later Trump says that Mexico and Canada are screwing us and their tariffs are terrible.

It makes ABSOLUTELY no difference what’s in the deal. The only thing that matters is what Trump says about it.

His support has already nose dived. Try and keep up.

Early reports from Fox News don't mean anything.

I played an excellent game of chess last night, found moves I shouldn't have which ended in a mate. The other player called me a cheater because of the beauty of the checkmate, However I didn't, it was just one of those games where the neurons are firing and I am seeing combinations and creative moves I shouldn't. I offered him a rematch so that he would have a chance to enact revenge but he split.

The CCP are always playing chess. Perhaps Trump is as well in some 3D manner. However, regardless of what game he is playing, Trump and his team should not be in a rush. We saw how little the CCP honoured their deal in 2020, it hurt Trumps credibility greatly. In addition to covid which destroyed the world economy and cost millions of lives.

I recall the 2020 debate and this quote to me at the time was effective:

BIDEN: "And so you take a look at what he’s actually done. He’s done very little. His trade deals are the same way. He talks about these great trade deals. He talks about the art of the deal. China’s perfected the art of the steal. We have a higher deficit with China now than we did before. We have the highest trade deficit"
