Gosh I feel so proud to be an American hearing this news. These are the first contract awards with this year’s money. One will essentially extend last year’s 20 miles of new barrier heading West from El Paso, about 47 miles further West. The other is 11 miles, going to build up the urban area around Yuma Arizona.
The $1.375 billion that Congress appropriated for wall building this year, is targeted at 55 miles in the Rio Grande Valley.
The 33 miles in the Rio Grande Valley that Congress funded last year (work just now starting), plus the 55 more miles this year, is enough to do most of the Valley - Big changes are coming!
