God's people maybe. Others out of hate or jealously refer to jews as chosen. Chosen to do a job. They were selected to preserve the torah and some were picked to carry the prophecies. A small nation in the cross road of most major civilizations since the dawn of recorded history. A tiny percent of the global population, scattered mostly against their will to every corner of the world. Massacred, conquered, crucified, occupied, enslaved, persecuted, treated by many as third rate people, forced to convert or be killed, confined to wall areas locked in during evening and certain days of the year. But these are "the chosen people"? They seem for the most part to make the best with what ever life throws at them. Through everything they have preserved their identity and their connection to their religious roots.

Chosen to the whipping boy of so many through time. Because of lies and misconceptions they are still hate. Blamed for the most outrageous acts of nature and man. Somehow they have been strong enough to withstand everything.
