I saw a video of one exploding in the targets pocket. It didn't harm anyone in the surrounding crowd, but it sure dropped that terrorist like a load of bricks.

The latest report I've heard is that the Mossad was able to learn the brand name of the pager, intercepted shipments of the pagers to Hezbollah and refitted them with explosives and trigger devices, and BOOM!!! 3000 of these things exploded. Those "injured" include the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon!!!

Apparently, a different make of pages are exploding today. Even better, while these explosions have resulted in multiple deaths and hundreds of critical injuries, as well as thousands of injuries to those carrying the pagers, there has been little collateral damage to people and/or property nearby.

Whatever they used might be their most advanced explosive available. It would probably need to be undetectable by airport scanners since some of these pagers probably went on planes. Maybe they could do that with shielding and keeping it very small.

I heard various reports. Some said two ounces (57 grams), some said 2-3 grams! The Official Hezbollah site here says (in Arabic) 20 grams.

Fox reported it was a liquid (I suspect they heard "ounces" and presumed it was liquid.)

12 ounces (340 grams) of Semtex took down a 747 over Scotland.

A gram of TNT has about the same energy as a bullet (4000 Joules). The energy released from the pagers was certainly more than that.

10 grams of Semtex would be about 7cc, about the size of six US quarters, which is kind of large.

Al Jazeera says it was 3 grams of PETN, and the message displayed on the pagers was "error."
