Israel was a mistake and, like any mistake, should be corrected.

I'm turning to the opinion, all foreign aid, trade and support for Israel should stop, with the exception of giving Israelis foreign passports so they have chance to leave.

The land should then be renamed, "Palestine" and given international status as a legitimate state, with assistance to hold free and fair elections.

Do you agree?

Nope, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not about to leave.
But I do will to kill those who tries to kill me, I'm not going to be bullied by anyone and you are no exception.
The only mistake is misunderstanding the mercy of my people, don't be mistaken.

no

we cannot go back that has been proven.....what map would we go back to...where would it stop

Please tell us why " Israel Proper" should be renamed " Palestine". :cuckoo: I love posts like yours. After reading them I think of just one thing: REASON 8,000,000 for no " Right of Return". :D.

This is an example of an issue I've wrestled with: how long do you have to live somewhere before it's yours.

With the exception of a very few places, everyone is living on land taken by force or coersion from someone else, sometime in history. I'm not referring to a change in the ruling power, I'm talking about removing the people who lived there by genocide or forced migration or something similar. In places like the Middle East this has been going on for millenia. Jews displaced Arabs, Arabs displaced Romans, Romans displaced Greeks, Greeks displaced Jews, Jews displaced Greeks, etc.

The best answer I could come up with is that if your parents were born in a land you have a right to live on that land. Arbitrary but any answer would be.

That practice only became illegal about a hundred years ago.

We are trying to be a more civilizes world.

There are still some laggards though.

lol----during the "GLORIOUS AGE OF ISLAMIC CONQUEST" land acquisition
was based on legal murder, rape and pillage.

someone should have told Abraham----he paid for Hebron

That's rather a good post, showing logic and compassion.
My bold, is where I have to agree with you, with the exception of the right to land you hold the deeds for.
For instance, there are many families that still hold the deeds for land owned by their families, but those families were forced from that land by invasion. We are talking about living original owners or their first generation family, many of whom were probably residents as children.
The Israeli government could compensate the occupants for their loss of the stolen property they occupy, or pay the deed holders the full market value as compensation.

I think we need more Oil Sheiks to help the Las Vegas economy.
You know, gambling, whores...the things Sheiks spend their money on rather than helping the Palestinians.

I take your point. If someone came up with a Roman deed to a piece of land they'd have a legitimate to claim the land. Extreme example maybe but it shows there can be multiple, legitimate claims to the same piece of land.

I think the Israeli government should have no problem paying off deed holders if they were willing to give up title to the land. The problem is that would mean giving up the fight against Israel and there are factions that would never agree to that.

The offer has been extended many times and has been refused.

in reference to the OP----the question seems to be "who is entitled to
live in a land"? seems to have turned into "who holds land deeds"?

it morphed into "compensation for land deed holders" I am confused---
what panned out?

Interesting post.

it is also interesting that among the 37 people who signed Israel's declaration of independence, only one was born in Palestine and he was the son of immigrants.

So...ah...:dunno:

The native was pretty busy dealing with your friends, specially in Jerusalem that was under the Arab Legion siege, so..ah..:banana2:

a place in order to be called INDIGENOUS OWNERS. as to compensation for
OWNED land-----does it depend on "deeds"

Israel exists because it is in the American self-interest to exist therefore it's an easy sale to the American taxpayer.

As a white man, I'm going to go buy a house in Detroit and cry woe is me every time black people beat, rob or murder me and my family.

OR, I could leave.

Jews should have never moved to the middle east. We should have given them 1/4 of Germany after ww2.
