Its like saying :fu: to all the parties involved in the so-called "peace process"

Israel to build 1,500 more homes in settlements | World news | theguardian.com
The announcement by housing minister Uri Ariel was immediately condemned by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, who accused Israel of planning a "major escalation" in response to the new unity government, and by the US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro.

discuss...

*** no shout-downs of "well you're just an anti-semite!!!". Lay out your arguments as to why a gov't should be able to build on territory that doesn't belong to them AKA- "occupied" territories. I have an interest in this matter because BILLIONS in US tax dollars and armaments are being exported there and for what?

Well, considering people have yet to be rehoused permanently from the Gazan disengagement 9 years ago I would say that building new homes is an excellent idea considering the shortage of housing there.

And do you think this will bring peace any closer?

This is another 'thumb in the eye' to the people conducting the peace process (the U.S. being one). I'm beginning to think maybe they aren't interested in the peace process.

No closer then Abbas demanding 67 Borders which were never recognized, Totally out of E. Jerusalem where Israelis most religious sites are, land within the " borders" we hear so much about and " Right of Return" which in time would anneliate the Jewish State. . Thar is why the " Two State Solution" is DOA. :D

And just what else do you expect them to do? Live on the streets?

What has moving people out of temporary housing into permanent housing got to do with peace. If peace is going to happen it is not to do with rehoming people that are living in temporary accommodation for 9 years when they were forcibly removed kicking, crying and screaming from their homes. Hopefully they will soon be happy in their brand new homes which have been a long time coming.

Nothing will bring peace any closer. They have been fighting for a 1000 years. The Muslims want to push them into the ocean. The jews don't like that don't like that idea What is your point?

What is the problem with building settlements on your own land? Oh wait I forgot, we learned here that Muslim Palestinians are the natives of the land.

Certainly not for those selling arms and munitions to the Palestinians. The Israelis can re-tool their factories to make more Soda Streams, so that won't be a total loss........

Good.
