Israel says it has killed Iran’s intelligence minister in third assassination in two days

18 Mar 2026 ~~ By Sam Meredith

  • Israel said Wednesday that Iran's intelligence minister, Esmail Khatib, had been killed in a "targeted strike" in Tehran.
  • It comes shortly after Israel said that Iran's top security official, Ali Larijani, and the commander of Iran's Basij forces, Gholamreza Soleimani, had both been killed.
  • A spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said "nothing has been announced" when asked about reports of Khatib's death.
Israel's Defense Forces said Wednesday that Iran's intelligence minister, Esmail Khatib, had been killed in a "targeted strike" in Tehran, marking the third assassination of a high-ranking official in just two days.
"Khatib played a significant role during the recent protests throughout Iran, including the arrest & killing of protestors and led terrorist activities against Israelis & Americans around the world," the IDF said in a post on social media.
"Similarly, he operated against Iranian citizens during the Mahsa Amini protests (2022–2023)," they added.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed Khatib's death in a post on X.

Commentary:
Iran's regime continues to lose their leader's, some of whom are/were part of the regime of terrorism.
That makes three in the last few days that will no longer be around.
If they want to stop the killing and the war, they must surrender.
The question is, just how many more of their hierarchy and infrastructure are they willing to lose.

Not an assassination, removal of an enemies' command and control personnel.

Do unto other as I do unto you?
Are we opening the door to a decade of assassination?

You Democrats have already went there, many times already, numerous attempts on Republicans and Trump. Sucks that your base of thugs is so deranged and incompetent, eh?

No, it would be wrong for the United States to create vast networks of terrorist groups to attack innocent Iranians all over the world.
What will the Americans and Israeli’s say when our leaders are assassinated?
