Let's say the KKK owns land right next door to a black family. Burning the cross facing their house OK with you then? How about cartoons in the New York Times of the Virgin Mary being raped by a donkey? You OK with that irreverence? Well they can go on display in large congregations wherever they like. It's just that the things they do in their church are antithetical to Islam, even just regular old Muslims have extreme difficulty watching it, much less accepting it. Many people see that as an infringement on their free speech and go out of their way to draw cartoons or burn Korans.

I'm not suggesting they tone it down merely to appease Muslims. I'm suggesting they tone it down to appease the majority in the US. One thing we both agree on is that when it comes to behaviors, they can be toned-down. You can't, for instance, "tone down" race, country of origin or biological sex/gender.
