Will media and networking change the way we think about geopolitical negotiation?

How are American kids absorbing the philosophical symbolism of eco-terrorism oriented comic book characters such as Poison Ivy (DC Comics) in this era of media-engaged ethics?

This is a question U.S. President Donald Trump may have to answer...

Americans love folk-tales and adventure-stories and the popularity (worldwide) of James Bond and Mission: Impossible films reveals this modern fascination with politics/governance oriented adventure stories. It's a comic book world, and with the advent of the powerful media, everyone wants in on the 'campfire' which is why CNN might feel like it's suddenly 'competing' with Al Jazeera.

Al Jazeera is a very popular and now powerful Muslim-based news and dialogue TV network which is accessible on various platforms across the globe. Al Jazeera often voices strong or even 'radical' Israel-critiques designed to probe whether or not the U.S. government (i.e., the Trump Administration) is managing Israel-Palestine in an 'unbiased' fashion.

After all is said and done, the greatest anathema of industrialization (something anti-capitalist terrorist groups from the Middle East such as ISIS focus on!) is of course toxic-waste. Toxic-waste must be managed perfectly, since it can be very deadly biologically to a human being, which is why we see comics-adapted cult-favorite politics-critique films in America such as the iconic Toxic Avenger who represents a capitalist paranoia about the 'excesses' of civilization (even Western civilization!).

American youngsters appreciate the folkloric appeal of G.I. Joe (Hasbro/Marvel) comics which present stories of paramilitary patriotic crusaders known as 'G.I. Joes' contending with a vile global terrorist organization known as 'Cobra' which is willing to use biochemical warfare to achieve its ends. G.I. Joe comics have been adapted into TV series, cartoons, and even two full-length impressive Hollywood (USA) films including G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra! These G.I. Joe 'campfire-tales' represent a Western interest in terrorism-engagement, which is why they're marketed to kids in America!

Accessible Internet means any pedestrian/citizen can use smart-cameras and upload photos of themselves in politically incendiary costumes/positions and then place them onto Facebook, US Message Board, World Discussion Forum, or wherever! Of course, we see countless images/photos of ISIS terrorists in fierce poses (or perhaps even arrogantly standing over the dead bodies of decapitated American tourists being held as hostages!) on the Internet and in the news. These ISIS images/photos can be easily found using a simple/basic Google Image search(!). So naturally we see 'complementary' uploaded images/photos by Americans blogging on the Internet who seek to send messages of industrialization-related eco-consciousness using masks or costumes inspired by comic book characters symbolizing new age political sarcasm. Is this therefore a Media War?

The advent of TV, computers, and radio has changed the speed with which we can transmit information and share photos and ideas and communicate imaginatively. The Internet itself is like new 'imaginary highway' which ominously beckons a new kind of terrorist(!) --- the computer-hacker (who might be skilled at generating Internet super-viruses!). This media-era invites social critics to wonder why CNN would feel like it's suddenly 'competing' with Al Jazeera in a media-saturated geopolitical landscape --- one somehow even 'governed' by the people (the pedestrians who 'shop' for photos) themselves.

Americans love movies, so when we see a Hollywood (USA) movie-superstar such as Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks making a politically-inquisitive dramatic film about Iran (Lions for Lambs) or Afghanistan (Charlie Wilson's War), we consider how the media-era has transformed how we conceive of 'pedestrian imagination.' So how will an anti-Western terrorist-group such as ISIS (a global 'totem' of anti-capitalism sentiments) utilize this new age of media? This is really the intrigue of the modern age --- the impact of networking. That's why more and more American movie-stars are getting involved with eco-activism related issues such as global warming and toxic-waste. So how will ISIS respond?

isis6.jpg

A good deal of political commentators believe that a terrorist-group such as ISIS will now have the necessary funds and motivation to use Western toxic-waste (by American companies) as justification for a 'jihadist' biochemical apocalyptic war. This is a sentiment perhaps voiced/aired on Al Jazeera, which might require a Western journalist on CNN to voice a complementary or argumentative claim. How will U.S. President Donald Trump use the media to promote peaceful geopolitical dialogue (given that he himself has suffered numerous media-scandals in the press)? Will ISIS use Al Jazeera to its advantage to justify biochemical terrorism with cries about Western civilization toxic-waste? Maybe we'll see a Tom Cruise movie about all this intrigue...
