I doubt very seriously he is found incompetent to stand trial.

Just having mental issues doesn’t allow you to escape prosecution. Defense would have to prove you were incapable of knowing what you did was wrong. That there was no Mens Rea (guilty mind).

However, it is widely accepted in case law, and statute law in some states, that any sort of mental impairment can make you eligible for a reduced sentence.

I don't trust the FBI and the government farther than I could throw them. Why would a non-explosive device be found at a Turning Point event?

Did they ever say? I thought they just found a suspicious device and detonated it out of caution.
