When we talk about democracy we are talking about:

Free and fair elections - that Trump gives zero crap about so long as he keeps the power.
Law based governing - that Trump shits on everyday.
Freedom of speech - that Trump shits on.
Seperation of powers - that Trump shits on.

Wrong again, Antoinette. We are exclusively a Constitutional republic. In certain respects, we do make use of democracy in that this is how we select our REPRESENTATIVES.

But we are not now and have never been a democracy. If you wanted to outlaw any speech criticizing Hamas, for example, you couldn’t do so even if you had a majority. But if we were a democracy, you could.

The fact that you can’t (even if you had a majority) is how you should be able to figure it out. We have a Constitutional republic which limits in a significant number of ways the dangers associated with rule by a mere majority.
