Presidents don’t in fact always know who the **** they are pardoning. But they do have a a group of advisors who know of the cases. And they also make recommendations after these applicants’ attorneys put in the proper paperwork.

Interestingly, having read about him, and how the Biden Administration supposedly treated CZ, it is. It difficult to believe that President Trump had a Pardons Attorney from DOJ putting a request before him (the President) and Trump reviewing it and agreeing with it.
