There is zero cause/reason to think opening up areas of Alaska to extraction of resources will harm it in any way.

If you want unlimited abortion, all you have to do is go to a state that puts no restrictions on it. Meanwhile, those who believe in the sanctity of life now have the right to their beliefs as well.

Right now the left is offering/proposing/demanding absolutely nothing, and I honestly say NOTHING, that any respectable citizen should condone, support, want, approve, allow.

This is the same kind hyperbole when the pipeline was built in the 70's.

Drilling sites are on uninhabitable Tundra.

The tree huggers screamed about destroying moose habitats and trails - now the moose shade themselves under the pipeline.

The Alaska pipeline is one of the most environmentally successful large projects undertaken by Americans or anybody else. Not only has it not hindered wildlife, but wildlife thrives around it. There is zero reason to think that the same degree of safety and care won't be applied to other projects as well.

It's like the doomsday brokers all wailed that those oil platforms in the Gulf would destroy the habitat of sea life. Well the sea life is thriving around those platforms, coral colonies are using them to anchor themselves and expand, no harm to any species has been identified.

When oil drilling was authorized in an environmentally sensitive area of the Texas Panhandle the environmental wackos did everything they could to stop it. Well there was little or no wildlife when those oil wells first went in. Now there are foxes and many more species of birds and critters thriving there and the previously non existent deer have become so numerous they present a significant hazard to motorists.

Americans can utilize technology AND be environmentally responsible.

The Exxon Valdez was a shipping mishap. It had nothing to do with oil exploration, storage, pipelines. And increased safety measures have gone in making it one of the rarest events Americans have had to cope with.

I think a lot of what the left wants to do is good, i just dont agree with how they want to do it.

Immigration? Let them all come, just do it legally.

Feeding the poor? Great idea, except thats not the role of the federal government. Let the states and charities do that.
